AuctionBooster User’s Manual
(Version 1.1.X)
If you are an eBay® seller, you may
want to sell your items at higher prices. This program is for use with
eBay® to send messages to users that may be interested
your selling items. The program helps you to search and fill in e-mail messages on
eBay's web site. The web browser used in this program does the same thing like the other
web browsers.
Installation
To install the program on your computer, you need to have a
PC computer with Windows® 95/98/NT/2000/me/XP
operating system. You need an Internet
connection. Follow instructions below to install it.
- Download
BoosterSetup.exe
file from the Internet. You may
save it to your hard disk and unzip it later by click on the Save
Button when download starts.
-
BoosterSetup.exe
is a self-extracting ZIP file. When you double-clcik on it to unzip the setup files,
you would
be asked to save the setup files to a temporary folder. You may use the default
Windows® temporary folder or any folder you want.
Close the Winzip program when it finishes its work.
- Run
Setup program under the folder you just selected in step 2. Setup will
install AuctionBooster program on your computer. First, you
need to start Windows Explorer and find the folder you saved setup files
in step 2. Double click on the Setup.exe application. Follow
the instructions in the Setup. After you finish the installation, you are
ready to use it.
Start AuctionBooster program
- Connect
your computer to the Internet.
- Click
on your Windows Start button. Under Programs
menu, you may find Auction Booster menu. There are two icons
under this menu. One is the AuctionBooster program icon and
the other one is the Uninstall icon. You can start the
program by click on the AuctionBooster icon under this
menu. It goes to eBay's home page automatically after the program
starts. See Figure 1.

Figure 1
- Type
in your searching keywords in the search window in the browser and click on
Find It
button. If you want to specify price range or other limitations, click on the link
Smart Search. Or, you can jump into any
Category you want and then search items.
-
If you want to send e-mails to active users, go to step 6.
If you want to send e-mails to users in completed items, click
Completed Items
under Display window on left side of the browser. See Figure 2.

Figure 2
- Go to
the last list page first if there are more than one page of completed
items. The reason to go to
the last search page first is that the last page has the latest completed
items. See Figure 3.

Figure 3
- Type
in your e-mail subject and message that you going to send to the users.
Note: It's not permitted to send
spam to eBay users to advertise an eBay listing or to solicit private
sales outside of eBay. You may only use this eBay service to ask users
other questions or if they want to receive your email. You cannot
give any information regarding the item you are selling or web link to that
item. If you give any of this information in the message, eBay may send
you a warning. You can only ask a very general question that does
not relate to your selling item. You may ask users: "Do you want to know
more information regarding an item similar to what you have bided on
eBay”. Once the user replies you, you can send an email directly from your
own email account to the user and give detail regarding your selling item.
You may check Confirm and check each e-mail option
if you want to confirm each user's user ID and/or message before you send
a message to the user.
Select Hide web pages during searching (faster) option
will speed up searching process. If you want to see detail of each
page searched, uncheck this option.
Click on
button at the bottom to start searching and sending.
- After
the e-mail sends out, the program logs each user ID in a text file so
that it remembers who you did send message to. You need to specify
a log file name. See Figure 4. Give a different file name for different
kinds of items if you have more than one kind of selling items. The
program checks this file and it will not send duplicate e-mails to the same
person for the same kind of items. If you are going to sell more than one kind
of Item, remember
to use a different log file name so that the program will send a different
e-mail to the person even if you have sent an e-mail to that person for the
other items. You may need to delete this log file manually after the
auction ends. EBay® does not allow you to
keep other users information.

Figure 4
-
When the program is searching users, do not try to interrupt the
program unless you want to stop the process.
- Once
the program found at least one user ID, the program may ask you to enter
your user ID and password. Click Sign In
button when you are finished. See Figure 5.

Figure 5
- If you
selected Confirm and check each email option, you would see
the e-mail confirmation page before e-mail is sent out (Figure 6). You may make
changes in the message if you want. After you confirmed the message, click
on Send message button to
continue. You may not see this page if you unchecked Confirm and
check each e-mail option.

Figure 6
- The auction site
will send you back a deliver confirmation of this message. See Figure 7.
This screen only keeps about a second. Then it will go to the next user ID.

Figure 7
- When
all e-mails have been sent, the program will return to step 5. You may go
to previous completed items pages to send more e-mails.
- You
may use
,
, and
buttons to navigate between Internet pages.
- You
may uninstall the program by clicking on these buttons: Windows Start
Programs
Auction Booster
Uninstall icon.
