PriceGauge
Auction buyers want to buy things at lower prices. How can you know the price is low?
Before you answer this question, let us find out how a store attracts customers. When you
shop in a store, most of the time you may see a big sign outside the store that tells you something
is on sale and how much you can save. This is a traditional way to attract customers to
open their pockets. The same way, if you tell the buyers how much they can save on the listed
items compare to the market price, they may stop here and place their bids on your items.
The more bids on an item, the more chance it will be sold at a higher price. Bidders like to
compare the bidding price with the market price before they place their bids. PriceGauge
is a service that can tell bidders this information in real time. For example, the market price for
your selling item is $100. If the current bid price on your item is $32, PriceGauge shows
a graphic like this one in your selling item.
To tell bidders how much they can save, sellers need to give a reference price. This
price can be one of the following:
- MSRP.
- Current selling price of the same or similar items in the stores.
- Current market price that evaluated by public resources.
- Recent auction price of the same or similar items.
- Labor hours plus material cost if you made the item.
You may have other methods to determine the market price. Once you have this reference price,
you can tell the bidders how much they can save.
This service is FREE for all bidders. It is also
FREE to all sellers for their first 50 selling items.
To use this service, sellers need only to copy and paste the following HTML codes into
anywhere in the selling item's description when you insert a new selling item or edit an
existing item on eBay. You may copy and paste the HTML codes into your Notepad. Save it to a
text file so that you can use it in the future. Please Note: Sellers need
to change the reference price about the item. Different items have different prices.
When a bidder visits this item, The PriceGauge will show you how many
percent you can save based on current bidding price.
This service is an operating system independent service. You can access this service
from any computer or terminal that is connected to the Internet.
The HTML codes you need to copy and paste to your selling item's
description area. You should not remove the words PriceGauge Powered By
BoostAuction.com and the link points to our website, BoostAuction.com:

<!-- End PriceGauge -->

You need to change the reference price in the HTML codes to the market
price. In the HTML example above, the market price is set to $123.45. If the market price
of your selling item is different, you need to change the value of maxprice
parameter in the HTML code. For example, if the market price of your selling item is $49.99, you need to
change highlighted text above to maxprice=49.99.
Once you enter the HTML codes in your selling item, it will create a button and text in your item like
this one:
